Change an IP address to a Word

Hello. I have searched this forum but have not come across the answer I'm looking for. I know you can't put an IP address in your signature, I know it is not allowed, but have noticed that some people have reduced the IP address to a word or two and this does seem to be OK. First, is it OK to do this: I guess it must be because some people do it but me being so new maybe I'm not allowed yet. If that's the case, no problem. If I am OK to do it however, would someone be kind enough to tell me how to do it?
Thank You.....Go Phillies!!!

When you post, click on the icon that looks like sunglasses in front of a globe, after you highlight the words that you want to appear in the post. Then put in the address, in the clicked icon. This cannot be used to give an address in your signature.

Whilst links are allowed in sigs - please be aware that any unsuitable links will be removed, (this is the minimum action that will be taken ).

Thanks boohbah. Some very interesting threads. All I wanted to do was change the word Search in my signature to an actual link but I'm told I can't put link's in my sig. But then Barman58 says I can put links in my sig. Oh well, I have already tried and it didn't work so I'm going to go pout now and break a few things. Have a good weekend my friend.

Alfred,

There is a time and post limit that applies to new users (this is there to prevent the abuse of the forum for nefarious purposes, by unscrupulous new members), and when they can use certain functions of the forum.

Not sure of the actual limits, (and we do not publish this type of info for obvious reasons), but if you keep using the forum as you have been these will be made available as time passes.

These limits are unfortunately required to keep Sevenforums the place that it is, and we want it to remain, unfortunately they do limit the genuine new users, and I hope you will understand that it is for the best reasons
