Unable to change drive icons in Win 7

Hi all. I can't get Win 7 HP to change the icon for drives on my PC. I right click on a drive, click on properties/customize/Folder Picture/ choose file. I select a icon file and click on Apply. Nothing happens.

I have a collection of Old Time Radio shows that has 12 drives and over 1300 folders, some of which I would like to change the icons of. Using the tutorial I found on this site would take me a VERY LONG time.

Thanks for any input and help with this.:)

A Guy - Thanks a bunch. Tried it and like it.

Brink - Thank you, but as I stated I have a lot of changes to make and it would take a few hours using the tutorial.

    Mark solved.
