Fix Icon after using Icon Packager 5.0

Folders looks weird after using star Dock Icon Packager 5.0 5.0 Trial....

I uninstall the program after setting the skins to Windows default which is built in program...seem ok until i reboot and now this folders looks like one of the skins...and some files also that are associated with VLC...!

anyways i have tried rebuilding cache but that didn't help! matter fact it made it worst...

so what's the next Step! I need help badly...

this is what my folders look likes like i want them to be either normal when i installed windows...yellow :)

Thanks for any helps and tips in advance....also I noticed this only happens if there is files in the folder or sub folders in main folder....otherwise if folder is empty then this dose not happen :/

Do you have a backup from before the problem started?

Do you have the win 7 dvd?

It might sound painfull but install back Icon Packager and try to restore default windows icons from it ( I know you did) and then reboot OS and then check again, you would be able to restore your icons this way. Good Luck!

Hi mate . All the good suggestions you have . And Icon cache rebuilding will not work in this situation .

First try mindinka's trick . Though there is a fare chance that it will show your weird icons still then .

It is painful that you got your DVD drive broken ... otherwise an image backup restoration will fix that problem magically .

Still the Resource hacker is an open option for you . Post the screenshots of the icons those got changed (some of your drive icons must me changed ; with one number down )... I will supply you the correct icons alongwith the replacement process .

For the next time , Have an image backup stored in HD too, before starting customization ; and for uninstalling Iconpackager , it is to go back to the default set first .

Ok Restore to before icon packger was installed not possible since i have no system restore point before that because i cleared system couple of weeks ago and got ridd of not used system restore points :///

second option suggsted will not work for reason being i do not have paid version of application anymore since it was trial version i used :/ so after installation it ask for key or buy it online :/

so on to third one here is the screenshot to what my drive looks like....i want my folders to change to default folder for whole computer then one at a time...or want to change to something fancy like your transparent folder sets....Here's sceenshot Arc...

Hi mate . Sorry for such embarrassment ... Nowadays I am having a poor bandwidth ; so the hosted image is not loading for me properly . Can you please upload it using the paper clip icon in the reply box ... I mean the red boxed icon in the attachment below ?

The easiest way is to replace your imageres file . I am a 32 bit user ... but once I modded a 64 bit imageres that you can find here : See Through Folder Icon Set .

But it is with a custom transparent folder icon . If you want the original , I am sure that somebody will be there to help us by uploading a default 64 bit imageres file . Let me know, I will try to manage it

System File Replacer will be a great tool which will do the replacement properly .

On the contrary, if you want to mod it yourself , just follow this post carefully : https://www.sevenforums.com/943862-post22.html . The needed icons (default folders) are in the attached zip .

Dont forget to rebuild icon cache and run a single instance of disk cleanup or Ccleaner after replacing the file .
