Look of the Close, Minimize, and Maximize buttons.

Hey, Jake here, AKA Pinesol.

So, last night I got into customising my UI. Like, the general stuff you can do under the customization for Windows 7. I noticed a friend of mine having a different look for his Close, Minimize, and Maximize buttons. Not completely sure if it was cause he was dual booting with Ubuntu and Windows 7. But, all I know is that I would like to change how they look. Making the desktop and everything a little more personal. Umm, but I searched this forum, and google for something that would allow me to edit these buttons and I found nothing. Just stuff for switching which side the buttons were on. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Jake/Pine.

That is what I am talking about, but it's whole themes.. Is there not just something for the buttons?

It can be done with the correct application. But it requires hacking dll files and replacing images. See this thread:

Changing the "minimize" "maximize" and "close" buttons of a theme

Bongo will likely see this and comment. I am unaware of a simple application that automates the process for you like a start orb changer for instance. A Guy

To change the size of the Caption Buttons:

Right click your desktop> Choose Personalize> Click Window Color

Click the Advanced appearance settings

The Window Color and Appearance dialog will open> On the Item drop down, choose Caption Buttons> Change the size

Take note of the original settings should you want to return to normal

P.S. You can google:

change caption buttons windows 7

and find more info.
