Can a user add "comments" to the "Windows Explorer" screens

In what used to be called "Windows Explorer"...ie...the directory read out of folder contents...c: drive...etc...is there a way to manually add to the "comments" field in the various displayed field choices....ie...Name - date modified - file size etc.

Can I add a mamually entered comment to the "Comment" field so I can keep memos on certain filesactivities...etc ?
Thanks...Tim
