Windows 7 - Windows Live Photo gallery screensaver

Just an annoyance really - but whenever we select this screensaver and let it do its thing....it just seems to ignore all the power settings in place, ie the display will never go to sleep etc etc.

Anyone else had this odd quirk from this screensaver?

And, are there any alternatives out there that offer the same sort of functionality as the above screensaver - the built in one 'Photos' has no transistions or effects etc.
