    Windows 7 Taskbar folder previews

I cannot for the life of me get the folder preview's to go away. They keep popping up on my taskbar when i have a lot of icons. I have tried the ExtendedUIHoverTime thing and that doesn't help. Any suggestions.

Currently running on windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

    Here's a screenshot as well...

    Hello Dizzm,

I'm not sure what you mean. The screenshot you have posted does not have any taskbar thumbnail previews in it. Take a look at the example screenshot in the tutorial below to see what a taskbar thumbnail preview is.

Obviously it's not going to show thumbnails, because I'm using Classic theme not Aero. Instead it uses a "list of tabs" (list mode). I want this list gone entirely. None of the directions show how to do this.

I haven't got time to test but if you right click the task bar and select properties, do you have the option to change 'Taskbar Buttons' ??

If so change this option to 'Never Combine'

    Does this help??

    Dizzm,

Using the program in OPTION ONE in the tutorial I posted above and below to Disable thumbnail preview will also disable List Mode from viewing.

I went ahead and used Option One but I think it is misleading to provide 4 different options that should allow me to effectively do something by editing the registry without having to download some program, but only one option which requires me downloading the program works. Option 4 doesn't work at all. I changed the extendeduihovertime and this does nothing. Downloading 7 Taskbar Tweaker and disabling Thumbnail Preview from there is the only way that seems to work.

I'm not sure what was misleading about it at all.

OPTION FOUR is only stated as for the "thumbnail display" and not for "list mode".

Only OPTION ONE and OPTION TWO were stated for both.

Anyways, I'm happy to hear that the program worked for you.

Sorry I thought this worked. It appears the tabs list is showing up randomly still. Pretty frustrating :\

You might give OPTION TWO a try if it's still not working completely with OPTION ONE.
