Basically all you need is a bitmap editing program like Gimp, PhotoShop or Corel etc. Start with square canvas (doesn't matter what size, you will resize it when you save the pic)
Import your pic in this case a human hand. Make the background transparent (erase all the white areas) so just the hand is showing. You will have to experiment with the size of the hand, to make it suit your needs)
When you've finished export the image at 48x48 pixels.

    Then open up "CursorFX"

    1. Click new package at the bottom of the prog
    2. A new window will open. Select the image that says "hand" (second to last image)
    3. Click "import graphics"
    4. Browse to wherever you saved the png file click "open"
    5. Adjust the "hotspots" (if needed)
    5. Click "save" give it a name
    6. Click "apply"

    Hi,
I've just started reading this forum. I downloaded this program as I was looking for other cursors.

Unfortunately, for me, after installing it, and choosing a theme, the program left me with an invisible cursor, so I was panicked. I plugged in a mouse but still no sign of any cursor, except when it went over various buttons that slightly flashed.
At first I didn't know what to do, I restarted, but it was the same.

So after pulling out several locks of hair I calmed down and managed to think of the windows key and then find my way to the control panel and finally to uninstall the program. And so found my cursor.

Why was this ? Is it not compatible with my windows ?

I believe the theme I chose was 'stargate' or something, blue and red. But in fact, it was invisible.

    Hi pooman
Thanks for that quick reply. I read the forum and noted that:
    Asus, yes
    enlarged text, yes
    Starbocks, yes

so no doubt I got the bug. I will maybe see about it at another time, as I'm having enough time learning about win7 on my new laptop.

Just BTW, as I was looking for cursors, I tried to find my previous on (on winxp), that was called 'firefox' or 'fox' -- an orange very pointed arrow (not a theme), that I can't find on google searching, would you know of it ?

Here ya go pal. You may have to play around with the "hotspot settings" ( try and get the finger to point at the + .... see pic)
They are ok, thanks. But when i move the mouse over some links, is strange somehow.
I wish i could use the same like in the Linux distros ( Ubuntu, OpenSuse, Mandriva, etc )
