    Resizing Desktop Windows

In XP I could resize the windows on the destop for each destop icon, place the window and lock it right above the icon itself, and configure what the contents (preview pane, Icons, details, etc.) were for each window. Is there a way to do this in W7 Home Premium 64bit?

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to SF!

Windows 7 has amnesia regarding individual windows settings.

The solution is a third-party utility call ShellFolderFix.

Thanks so much. This was driving me wild. I couldn't figure out why MS would exclude this feature from W7 when I found it to be so convenient in XP. Now to find out why I can't delete folders from the Network folder.

Thanks again. I will check it out. Also, I am finding that to be very true (about SF). I live in Coon Rapids and I have ridden through Osceola many times. It's my gateway to Wisconsin from my side of town when I ride with an old friend of 35 years.

    Have a good one bud.

Well, Part of your problem can be fixed with WindowManager - it allows Windows 7 to remember the size and position of each window you open. I cant do without it anymore. It really works great (in 64 bit too) - you can see it at http://www.desksoft.com/WindowManager.htm
