Windows 7 - Window switcher instead of Alt tab?

I'm thinking of replacing alt tab entirely with the 3-d version. The only downside I see is that you can't use just 1 alt-tab to quickly switch to your last active window. Is there another reason to use the old alt-tab other than personal preference?

It is quite a thumb cramper to curl under extra far to hit the windows key, but other than that I love the new feature.

Thanks that link will help me change flip 3d's hotkey to alt+tab.

Any way to make flip 3d's first window the last active window? This way I would only need 1 hotkey: alt+tab

I noticed if you are focused on the desktop, the first flip3d window is your last active but otherwise it's not.

so.. it is not really useable as a way to switch back and forth between 2 applications

Any suggestions?

what i do is..

"window key" + Tab button - to move to the next app.

and

"window key" + Shift + Tab button - to move to the previous app.

It is not exactly what you need, but may be it can help you.
I wrote a little program for it.
Usage: Move the mouse to the left side of the screen = pressing ALT+TAB
Staying there and scroll with the mouse = switching between apps

To be honest although I used Alt Tab and Windows tab in vista, In seven I tend just to use the taskbar for switching. Saying that I have got a 3rd part switching app loaded which allows me to use the screen corners as acces triggers for flip 3D
