You will need a custom theme from deviantART: where ART meets application! & use 1 of these Tutorials Enabling Custom Themes - Windows 7 or Theme - How to Apply Custom Themes
or Restorator or Ave's Windows7 Style Builder that is able to edit the msstyles file

If you are using the original Aero theme I can change 1 or 2 things for you I have WSB But I cannot change a custom theme you need to ask the maker for that

Yes, actually I believe you can change the Context Menu's background color. Try this:

Right-click your Desktop to open Personalize. Select: Window Color and Appearance, and click on the Advanced button. In the Item drop-down menu, select: Menu, and change the color. Click: Ok, and Voila!

Sorry Jerry. It should have worked. Perhaps the Windows Theme you've chosen has limited your options. I'm using Windows Classic, so I have the option to change all of these settings. Why don't you try experimenting with different Themes and settings options? You can always change back to what you currently have now, if you can't find something you like better, that gives you more options.

That will only work for basic or ease of access themes.

Well, I chose yellow for my "Menu" color and all of my menus, including my context menus, are yellow. So, this works very well with my Windows Classic theme.

PS Derek, in your screen shot, it looks like you've selected the "Windows Text" or "Message Box" item. The one that controls the different menus is "Menu."

Exactly, that's all I was pointing out. It's not for aero themes though. :)

Yeah, I was just posting that to show what is written there about basic and ease of access themes.

Your way does work on classic themes Sue, just like you said. :)

I think the most important thing is that the one thing MS Windoes DOES do, is offer a lot of different alternatives. Tho, it's true, we don't get all of the options with every different alternative, at least we can pick and choose what comes closest to the way we each like to set up our systems.
