Search Bar in Open-Dialogue Box??

Would it be possible to customize a search bar inside an open dialogue box?? Any insight is helpful.

Not clear on specifically what you're asking, but first, it would depend on the Theme you're using. If, for example, you're using Windows Classics, you can change the color of the search bar as well as the font style, size, and color of the text in the dialog box. These changes would be made in the Windows Color and Appearances, Advanced section. Just open the Item drop-down list and make the changes to the appropriate Item.

Search Bar in Open-Dialogue box

I suppose I was unclear to what I am looking to accomplish. Basically, when I open a file say instance in Microsoft Word or any application for that matter it would be nice if there was a search bar in the "Open-Dialogue" box so I could just type the file name in directly versus having to navigate to the folder.

Does that make sense?

Tall order! In MS Office there is almost what you're looking for. If you click on the s Help icon at the top of the screen, there is a Search Pane, and if you click the down arrow 6 next to the word "Search" there is a link to "Content of this computer."
