is this possible to do with a regedit key?
And abit offtopic, but is it possible to remove the start menu button with a registry key aswell?

Yes it is possible to remove start orb. But not a reg hack. Search Google for "Start Killer"

Anyway, this tool doesn't seem to work. I got the same problem as Faceofjoe421. Everytime i restart Explorer.exe or click up the hidden taskbar notification buttons it re appear. I've tried to run it as administrator even tough im on the Administrator account aswell

Be advised that it's been reported that your taskbar will have an empty space where the "show desktop" button used to be. You'll probably need to run as administrator to get the utility to work. More info at this thread:

This subject is very important to me, but both links you provided tell me I'm not allowed to view those pages. So, the question remains: how can I get that 'Show Desktop" button off the notification area or, at least, disabled?
