Windows 7: Taskbar Height Question

I've got my taskbar set to use small icons, but I'm wondering if there's any way to make it even thinner yet.
Basically, I use a custom start orb that looks like the min/max/close buttons, and I'd like to make it so the distance from the bottom of that to the bottom of the taskbar is the same distance as the close button from the lower edge of the caption bar when a window is maximized. Which I believe is 2 pixels.
Is that possible?
