Windows 7: desktop background cant changed from stretch mode

i cant change my desktop background picture position from stretch to any other mode if i go to personalization and then to desktop background as i change picture position to tile and as i press ok it return back to stretch mode again... hope this problem can be sorted out

plese help me how to customize how much tiles and size of each tiles that appear in the desktop background???

That'd depend upon the pixel height-width of the image you're tiling and your computer's screen resolution.
