Windows 7: Is there a global "Choose details..." in Windows Explorer?

When i view files/folders in Windows Explorer, I would like to have the following details showing for all: Name, Date, Date modified, type, Size, Folder. It appears that I have to do this for every file that I open if it is not already done (View>Choose details... Iguess what I'm asking is if there is a global way of setting these five details?

Followed Brink's tutorial. DL'd and saved the reg change for the Documents template. Manually made the wanted details changes in Documents(both in Libraries/Documents and in users/username/y Documents, installed the reg changer, rebooted, and no changes other than the ones I made manually???

Flycaster,

From your description in the first post, you would want to use the General Items folder template instead.

However, this will not affect the folder view settings in libraries and library folders, the small File -> "Save as", "Open" common dialog type windows, or a window's default size and position.

Well, I did the General Items DL and installed as instructed, yet I haven't noticed any changes in Windows Explorer...other than the those folders for which I manually set. BTW, I could be looking at the wrong folders. I know that Library folders won't change, but which ones will...stuff in program files (x86), for example???

Yes, the Program Files location should have been changed by it.

Reset all folder views back to default first, then see if you may be able to set a default folder view of your choice afterwards.

Thanks, Bink. Now have all folders set to the way I want them to be. But, one question: The reg changes that I made through the DLs you suggested, is it OK to leave things the way they are, or should the reg be changed back to its original state?

You're most welcome Flycaster. That's great news.

If that's how you want your folder views, then it's fine to leave them set as is. You can still make individual folder view changes per folder if you like as well.

The reset REG file only sets all folder views back to Windows 7 default settings anyways. There's nothing that needs to be changed with the REG file afterwards.
