Stuck on Windows 7 basic theme

Whenever I put it on windows 7 them (Aero section) it does nothing. Just keeps on being windows 7 basic theme. I liked it (before re-installing windows 7) where the close button was more rounded and if I hover over the the little icons down the bottom it shows the page (not the title). Sorry for not knowing the correct terms for the words, but could anybody tell me a fix to this.

    Hi,

Firstly I would advise that you update your GFX drivers. Older/Default drivers can cause Aero issues.

If you download and install Speccy from Piriform it will give details of your hardware.

I downloaded the program and went to the graphics section and it says "DELL 2007FP on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" would that be the right one?

Edit: Just saw the picture and it says "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter"

    Ok, try the following...

1, click and type Device then click Device Manager
2, click the expand icon next to Display adapters
3, right-click the Standard VGA adapter and select Uninstall
       Note
Make sure to tick the Remove driver software box if it shows

    4, Reboot your machine

This will hopefully force Windows to re-detect your GFX adapter. If asked, allow Windows to search Windows Update for drivers.
