imageres.dll ?

In the System 32 folder is a imageres.dll file. If I remember correctly, and I reserve the right to be 100% wrong here, there are .bmps in the file for desktops during the boot/shutdown procedures.
I also think there is/was a program that be used to open and edit these files.

Does anybody know what I am refering to here?

I am curently testing Windows Thin PC, which is a "light" version of Windows 7 and it has the nicest logn on "screen/desktop" I seen in all the Windows versions. I'd like to be able to dig around and get a copy of it.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Also, not sure this is posted in the correct place, sorry if it isn't.

Do you know where I might find the boot up and shut down bitmaps? I forgot how little I knew about this project - I know NOTHING...

Isn't it easier just to take a copy of imageres.dll and put it in your regular Windows 7 ?

I could do that, but I'd like to find the .bmp and use it as a desk top in the Windows Thin PC version.

ETA - I found them - imageres.dll "IMAGE"
