Dimming the brightness of the monitor

    Hello,

I am looking for a button I can add to the taskbar that will dim the brightness of the screen.

Do any of you have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Their may be a 3rd party program that does what you want but I think it depends on the video card and monitor you have.

I have a 50,000 to 1 ratio contrast monitor and had to use the software management that came with it to adjust properly so it won't burn my eye balls.

What type of monitor do you have?

Adjust the monitors brightness with its controls and have an ambient light in the room.

Have you adjusted to brightness with the monitors internal setup?
I have mine adjusted as a custom brightness and contrast setting and saved it in the monitor itself.
    Have you tried that?

    Very useful little app.

Another good freeware is F.lux which automatically adapts your computer's display to the daylight times at your location.

Good question. It uses autohotkey, so only one instance can run I believe. Whether it will dim both would remain to be seen. Worth trying if you'd like it :)
