Battery disappeared

The battery icon in my Vaio Laptop show no battery is installed! Any help?
I ran Win 7 Ultimate.

I think you should tell us alot m ore abt your computer, your OS, how was it installed, was it 32 bit or 64, amd anything else you can think of

Okay, here's my rig:
Sony Vaio 17" Laptop - 4GB (PC2-6800) 800 Mhz - HD 200GB SATA -WiFi -Bluetooth etc.
This is the second time that info from battery shown up as that battery is not reconizible. The first time tha i send for a tech make a test, it bring back in okay stetus. Now it again show that's reconizable again.Is it the battery fault? Should i replace it or there's somethinh to try?
