    How to Eliminate Aero

I'm new to Windows 7 and currently am running 7 Pro on my PC although there are a lot of things that I do like about 7 there are a lot I don't. I tried to customize my PC with a paid version of WindowBlinds. It is a 7 theme and compatible but it still has some of the Aero items still attached (light blue shading on bars, highlights and the like).

How do I totally eliminate Aero so I can do a full customization to my liking? Any help will be most appreciated!

Hello Barn & Welcome to SevenForums! :)

Not sure what it is you're looking for but try this:

You can simply generate this Windows by clicking your Windows Orb, and search for Performance Options
Now, you can create a custom one.

For ideas to your customization, this is a cool place to go for great tutorials:

Right click desktop, click Personalize, choose a Basic and High Contrast Theme - these are non Aero themes (Aero off).

The solution by sygnus21 Applies for a single User account

Not sure what you mean but both solutions are only applicable to a single user on a system with multiple users.

In othe words If I make changes using either method on one user, those changes only affect that user.

I just tried it on one of my systems which has multiple users.
