System Icons

This most likely has been brought up before, but I really wonder what MS was thinking with the ugly black and white default icons for the Action Center, Network and Speaker icons in the system tray.

Is there an easy way to change these? I just find the default ones pretty ugly. Some color would be nice.

I don't know of a way to change them. Maybe go into the system files and find the bitmaps?

I personally like them though, so I won't be changing them anytime soon.

I'm with the original poster I hate the black and white icons.

The battery is especially annoying since I can't look over and get the green visual I'm used to.

Microsoft needs to get their act together and leave the good things alone. I miss the side bar too. I really liked being able to click on an icon and have it on top rather than having to remember to hit the windows and g key to see my clock.

Anyone know how to make an icon with the windows and g key, so I don't have to remember it. After all I know I'm not the only one that suffers from Mom's disease (CRS). That'd be .

You could always look at the system tray to see your clock or even better you could just hover over the show desktop button to be able to see your gadgets.
