    Right Click Start orb entries

    Hi All

    Im having an issue removing some program shortcuts from the right click on the start orb menu. It used to just contain properties and open windows explorer however a couple of installed programs have jumped on to the list. A anyone know how to remove these entries.

    Thank-you

    Hi Danny
    There was a member that was trying to add to that menu here How to Customize the Start Button right click context menu I looked for 2 days on the net & did not find anything for Windows 7.
    Backup your Registry Registry - Backup and Restore Then try this Registry Editor - Find and Find Next - Vista Forums

    If you find it let me know where it is.

    Hi Jerry

    The 2 programs that have added themselves are defraggler and Magic ISO. Have managed to remove defraggler by uninstalling and reinstalling allowing no short cuts to be created but Magic ISO puts its entry back no matter what.Will look through the links you have given me and if I find anything will report back.
    Thanks again

    Jerry

    Ive removed the entry using regedit from the right click context menu for explorer but it still remains in the context area for right click on the start button. Like yourself ive searched most of the day and found very little. Might be one I have to come back too

    Hi Danny !

    Try ShellMenuView - Disable/enable context menu items of Explorer .

    Run the program , search and select the desired entry, and the red button at the top left disables the entry .

    EDIT : I have never tried, but http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html also does the same thing , as I know .

    Did you find a solution to this? I have an entry created by Snagit, and I would like to remove it (although it does no harm!)

    @Danny

    To remove MagicISO from the start orb context menu you have to delete 2 folder from regedit.

    Run regedit and navigate to the following:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers\MagicISO
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\MagicISO

    Delete the folder "MagicISO" on the left pane.

    @gini

    For your case all you have to delete is just 1 folder from the following:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\SnagItMainShellExt

    Delete the folder "SnagItMainShellExt" on the left pane

    Now... right click on the start orb both MagicISO & Snagit should be out of sight.
