'Pointers' Tab in Mouse Properties Box Gone!

For a few days now i have had to stick to the ordinary cursor scheme from windows 7 default becuase the pointers tab in the mouse properties box has dissapeared as though it was never there. i had to google my issues but no results helped me . As for trying to contact microsoft, it was too hard to get a direct email .
I would really appreciate any help on my problem and if you state what i have done wrong please supply the answer on how to get the tab back in your same post.
Thanks in Advance
