    Where are the large icons?

So I'm trying to add an incon for my folder but all the icons seem to be from XP and small (in the default folder %SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll). Tryed to google the location of large icons but all it gives me is links for downloading new icon packs... no thanks.
    Please help. Thank you!

    Hi karelo

The icons in the shell32.dll contain all the sizes from 16x16 to 256x256.You can use the device images scroll bar to see the different sizes available as below.

You can use this- Download IconViewer to open the .dll files to view the icon sizes.

    Hope this helps

If its just a folder icon you want to change just select it from the shell32.dll/imageres.dll and windows will apply the correct size for you.

Most of the latest icons are in imageres.dll.

shell32.dll/imageres.dll BINGO! So that's where they're hiding. Thank you! Any other hidden folders with sys icons by any chance?

Many of the .dll folders have icons in those 2 are the most common but also imagesp1.dll and zipfldr.dll contain folder icons. If you are running a 64bit System these folders are also in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 aswell as C:\Windows\System32
