Why Cant I Find the Personalise Button?

Hi everyone! I got this new laptop just yesterday and started using it today. It's a Dell brand and it's a Windows 7 Home Basic. I've downloaded everything i had on the old laptop and everything on this one, but i wanna personalise it now..the only problem is that when i right click on the desktop, i see everything to the Gadgets button, but i dont see a personalise button. It's really getting on my nerves because i've spent hours trying to figure out what's wrong, but there's absolutely no use. Can you please help me?

for a quick fix ,type personalise in the start search box and select personalise your computer .
once you have done your personalizing then consider running sfc/scannow to check the system files are ok.and fix them if not.

Hello JustMe, and welcome to Seven Forums.

By default the Windows 7 Starter and Windows 7 Home Basic editions do not include the Personalization features such as change desktop background, Desktop Slideshow, and more.

By default, the Windows 7 Home Basic edition will only allow you to change the desktop background by right clicking on a image and clicking on Set as desktop background.

However, you could use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below as a workaround to have it instead.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
