can you change the layout for icons in explorer?
in windows7 the sorting is
a a b
b c c
c d d
in XP it was
a b c
a c d
b c d
when i read file names in w7 it takes min 5x more time to read them ;/
i dont know why sb from ms do this and when, but this is s**t :)
can you make windows7 to sort icons like XP?
I don't know but if you start typing the selection will jump on your icon.

if i dont know exact begining of the text i'am searching for, it takes a huge amount of time more to find it....
disorder of same word-begin-letters requires more space to cover with our eyes, when using win7 sorting
if we've got 3 columns with 25 rows each, we have to move our eyes 25 times from left to right
in XP like sorting its 3 times to look from top to bottom
of course, you can say, i can still look top-bottom in win7, but if i read (from example in 1st post) a-b-c a-c-d b-c-d, my brain gets confused and it takes more time for me to look inside each position and look for searching term.
its much easier when i read a-a-b b-c-c c-d-d
