Did you rebuild your icon cache Icon Cache - Rebuild that may help.

Hint: for some of the devices and printers right click on the icon and Create Shortcut it should go to your desktop

Then right click on the shortcut go to Properties then go to the Shortcut tab then click on Change Icon button.

In that window highlight and copy the location and paste it to a note pad it will tell you where the icon is located. For my HP printer it was located at c:\users\jerry\appdata\local\microsoft\device metadata\dmrccache\en-us\6404a1aa-9dab-47c1-a0a7-090e717f9471\DeviceInformation\deviceImageMFP.ico
