Windows 7: Getting rid of PC name, homegroup etc

Getting rid of PC name, homegroup etc

If you take a look at the attached image.




When i go to save or edit a file i keep getting theses damm PC Name (Home-Brew) homegroup, libraries etc (despite the fact when i open Windows Explorer (WE) normally libraries has gone as i have used the mod here, does anyone know how to remove all these (IMO useless) entires so i just get my drives none of the other stuff?

Hello All1,

If you have a 64-bit Windows 7 installed, then be sure to also do the additional step for it to remove them from the "Save as" and "Browse" type dialog boxes. However, some 3rd party programs may use their own "Save as" and "Browse" dialog boxes that ignore this and still show all of them.
For example, this "Browse" dialog box has "Libraries" removed from it.

Yep sure does Shawn, i thought doing the explorer mods i have already done would have sorted it but looks like i have more work to do, yes i do have 64bit so i'll do those other steps, i'll take an image know (just incase i balls it up) and then do the steps you mentions many thanks.

Thanks for that Shawn, got it working (well almost) i still get the username coming up and done the mod 3 or 4 times but it's not the end of the world, so thx for your help.
