    Right click menu: Shutdown/Restart

I just reinstalled my Win 7, due to the hardware upgrade.

Previously, when I right clicked on my desktop, I have the options to Shutdown and Restart my system. Unfortunately, I don't remember how to set/enable this.

How do I add Shutdown/Restart options in Desktop Context Menu?

    Welcome to the Seven Forums
First make a backup Registry - Backup and Restore
Click on start button in the search box type regedit and hit enter the registry editor should open then navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell in the left navigation pane
Right click on shell go to New> Key type in Shutdown
Right click menu: Shutdown/Restart-1.pngRight click menu: Shutdown/Restart-3.png

Right click on Shutdown go to New> Key type in command
Right click menu: Shutdown/Restart-4.pngRight click menu: Shutdown/Restart-5.png

And in the right navigation pane Right click on Default click on Modify and type in Shutdown.exe -s -t 00 and click OK
Right click menu: Shutdown/Restart-6.pngRight click menu: Shutdown/Restart-7.pngRight click menu: Shutdown/Restart-shutdown.png

Repeat the above steps for Restart when you get to the Modify type in Shutdown -r -t 00
    Right click menu: Shutdown/Restart-restart.png

and you should have them both.
    Right click menu: Shutdown/Restart-both.png

    Right click menu: Shutdown/Restart-01.png

    Thank you!

If you're going to make a tutorial please move these entries to the bottom of the Context Menu, (and if possible, add the icons to them).
    It would be great!

I'll get started on the tutorials now, and post back with a link when they are done. :)
