    Problem with Windows 7 Gadgets

    Ladies & Gentlemen:

I need help please. When I turned my PC on this morning, 1 of the 3 gadgets on my desktop was gone. I use the WeatherBug and the other weather gadget (the name I don't know). The one that is gone is the meter that measures my CPU and RAM usage.

I tried opening the gadgets folder in several different ways. From the desktop, from the statrt menu, from the native folder in the C drive. They should all allow me to view the various gadgets and re-activate the one I am missing. However, by clicking the links or opening the folders that are for this purpose, nothing appears.

The only thing I can think that may have caused it was on Friday, 09/16, or Saturday, 09/17, I had Norton Untilities 15 repair some of the issues found on a routine scan. Any suggestions short of going back to a restore point would be helpful.

Thanks a bunch. I look forward to hearing from someone.

    Jim

Two suggestions. Disable then renable the Windows Gadget Platform

Windows Features - Turn On or Off

Scroll down to Windows Gadget Platform, uncheck, reboot, then repeat and recheck.

If no help, run the System File Checker

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

This will disable 3rd party themes if used, you will have to repatch your system.
