I'm just posting another version with a shorter drop shadow, as per the speedgamer01's suggestion. Which one looks more natural? Posting the former one again, that way you've got a side-by-side comparison :-)

It doesn't really matter the length of the shadow only predicts the time of day (the height of the light that falls on the image)

Purely on aesthetics, I would say that the shorter shadow looks more natural

I'll say the one with the shorter shadow looks more natural. The longer shadowed one I would think would need some slight shading elsewhere to account for the lower angle of sunlight that would be coming from the later time of day, as Nick mentioned.
