Format the text after you paste in the URL, but leave it highlighted until you're done, see my edit above (below?)
I've done this with the links above my sig.

Aah okay, it never seemed to work when I last tried that. Over at GeeksToGo, they have a [member] bbcode tag where it does it all for you and I thought there must be something like that over here :) Thanks for the help everyone
