    +1 for Tom982.
After dabbling around with Animation I know Tom spent some long hours creating the animated sig for Athene.
The problem with animation on this or any forum is the size/space allowed to show your work.
Never the less Tom did an awesome job on Athene's sig.

    Great job Tom!

Congrats to our latest Guru! Well done, Tom! :-D
I'll just modify your current sig and replace the Seven Pro badge with the Guru one ;-) I'm also dabbling with another sig for you, spent the afternoon following a tutorial for a really nice pattern and adding my own shy touches to it

I love that animated sig you made for me - I don't think I've seen a sig so far with two levels of animation (the doors, then the animation behind the doors. Simply amazing).
I feel quite bad that you took such a lot of trouble and probably sigged your eyes sore, and then this size restriction barrier crops up and prevents me from showing off your artistry

Thanks for fixing the sig, I'd completely forgotten about that! It's been a long time since I've got a new badge. Ooh, how intriguing :) I look forward to seeing the finished sig!

Most of the time I spent making it was just reading tutorials, I had no idea where to begin with animation in Photoshop. It all started when I came across this tutorial because I thought it would be nice to include a bit of animation in your sig.

Quick Tip: Create an Animated Banner Ad in Photoshop CS5 | Psdtuts+

Then I got carried away a little and pretty much threw myself in the deep end with that sig. Somebody more experienced than myself would be able to do what I did in at least half of the time - I was learning it all on the job :) Please don't feel bad Athene! You didn't ask for animation, it was my choice to overcomplicate it :) I learnt a lot and I'm quite confident with animation now so I'll be able to add a little bit here and there in future sigs. Think of it as a learning curve, not an inconvenience to myself!

    Hi Tom,

Here you go - a new sig on the occasion of your Gurufication! Congrats again and thanks again for the lovely animated sig, it's a masterpiece!

    Creation of the sig:
99% of the sig was created in GIMP. I followed the wonderful tutorial over here, but deviated from some steps; I ignored the fractal trace part and instead applied a slight whirl effect. And for the very first time, I also created text along a path ("Seven Guru" in the bottom right corner of the sig). It was enormous fun making a very different sig for a change, without using glow or smoke brushes and working heavily with filters instead.

Update: created a GFX version as well (simply replaced "Seven Guru" with "GFX Team").

Nice end product with the animated sig, Tom. Too bad it can't be used.
But a great product all the same. :)

Some more great sigs, Athene. Great work!
