I tried to uninstall weather gadget from sidebar and reinstall weather gadget. but problem still exit. also, when I try doing this, my lost all my restore point. so, I couldn't get orignal weather sidebar back.

    Hi Kestrelbird and welcome,

Did you run the sfc/scannow with an elevated command prompt? SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If it still doesn't repair it, you can try turning off the Windows gadget platform in Turn Windows Features on and off from Program and Features in the Control Panel. Un check it/ok, let it configure, it will take a while. After reboot, go back and turn it back on. You can retry sfc/scannow as admin after that to see if it can fix it then if there's still a problem. If it won't fix it still, then

    Try a Repair Install.

If you knew the exact file that was corrupted...possibly.

If you do a repair install with build 7600, it won't wipe everything and do a clean new install of your 7600 build, it will just be like an upgrade of the same build, it will keep your files and programs and fix any possible corrupted/missing system files. Just follow the Repair Install tutorial and use the 7600 build if you burned it on a disk. Because it sounds from your first post as if you might have a few other problems going on besides a corrupted gadget system file.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will try to do repair install. To be honest, it's my second time do the repair install, last time, I have problem for DVD drive issue. Couldn't read CD +R or DVD +R So, I did clean install and wipe all software and file in C drive. It took me whole day to get everything back. Well, If everytime has some issue and have to repair install and do 't have best and easy to slove the problem, it will be terrible. Any idea and comment for that? thank you.

Hello, Airbot. I did repair install. unfortunately when run sfc/scannow has same problem windows unable to fix those corrupt file which is weather gadget. but my weather sidebar works fine. If I turned off windows gadget platform then do sfc/scannow run get message found corrupt file and fixed it. but after tuen platform back. same issue. I guess it's windows bug.

By the way, Other issue about backup and restore control buttons still disabled. couldn't click 'change setting' 'schedule setting' and 'backup now'. Please help how to make those control buttons work? Thank you.
