I don't know if anybody agrees with me here but most of these styles are a slight modification of the default Aero theme. I have only found one actual independent theme that wasn't a port and it really didn't look that great.

I do understand its a learning process and some artists are gonna have to be a little innovative in order to push the customization factor a little higher. I miss my Vista VS's... I had a really nice gray one that I got from dA. I forgot what it was called.

Hope more independent VS's come out.. What are you guys using?

Also, t41, whats the replacement for the *****'s on your link?

have you ever tried to make a VS from scratch? it takes weeks of work. months even. it's not a quick process.

a lot of people don't even know that windows 7 exists. give it some time...

Yeah I know, I used to make XP skins for Windows Blinds. It does take time, I'm not really complaining about it, just eager to get something new, you know.. A lot of people in dA are working hard and trying new **** everyday :)

i think the main issue is that windows 7 isn't retail yet, and most people out there don't even know it exists. with Vista Style Builder you can port Vista styles to Windows 7 quite easily - it comes out 90% complete, and you just have to tweak some margins and skin a few new UI elements. it'll happen, it just needs time.

garbanzo - i know what your talking about, but the links above are for torrents to download all the new vs from DA - it is misleading as the site uxstyle calls them thems. I personally thinkof them as themes also, and beleive these screen saver packs they call themes are nothing but tscreensaver packs. - lol
I'm using the "Elegant Gray" theme or vs myself and love it.

If this is not what you are talking about then i apologize, i think i know what thread you are referring to, if you find it please post a link here as well.

    Thanks, t41
    Hi t41,

the pic in your post (with the headphone) can you please tell me where i can find it?? I think its awesome. Is it a style or a theme? And what are the widgets on the desktop? I really hope you can tell me about it. I wanna make mine exactly the same! Thanx in advance.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I've been down and out. Any way the theme I am using is called "elegant gray" found on deviant art. I am also using cdart display right herewith the Abandon Otis (ThaUpright) skin found on deviant art as well. Using rainmeter as well for clock and weather. All else just gadgets I picked up along the way.
I have uploaded the wallpaper for you as i don't remember where or when i got it.
