AutoHotkey_L

It's a scripting language designed for hotkey manipulation. It's also the best I've found for "mouse hotkeys" such as doing something when I hold down Control and Middle Click on the desktop or whatever.

Also it has the ability to conditionally enable the hotkeys or key substitution. For example you can set it so the hotkey only fires if an Explorer folder window is the active window, or notepad, or whatever you want.

The help file has examples. See the section Hotkey subsection Custom Combinations and Other Features.

The language and libraries are free. There's a forum where you can ask for help. You can do other cool things with it. For example I like editors to swap the last 2 characters typed if I press Control-t, but most browser editor applets and even most editors don't have it. I added it to an AutHotKey_L script I have running in the system tray all the time. The Control-t is only active when I'm using certain browsers and editors. It doesn't interfere with other apps.
I'm not sure what your saying. I have no idea how to that.

It's a scripting language. It comes with help files. If you want to try programming simple scripts, download and install. If not then just get a utility that does it for you. But the ones that do it for you make you do it the way that programmer wants it. To do it the way you want you can roll your own. Key substitution scripts are the simplest. This script,

a::A

outputs a capital 'A' every time you press a lower case 'a'.

edit: another example, use mouse wheel instead of Alt-Tab

WheelDown::AltTab

Every time you rotate the mouse wheel down, Alt-Tab key combination is sent to the active window(the one with the keyboard focus.)

It's basically a macro scripting language.. but with other stuff common to scripting languages such as file functions, read write delete files etc.. you can pop up windows with buttons lists edit boxes... like many other programming languages.

On my keyboard the second button to the right of the space bar does what you are trying to do, the keyboard came that way.

After using that program it only works when I press "Control + Alt + Tab". Any help on that?
I can't replicate that problem. Have you or some other programs done some other remapping that might be causing conflict?
For me, it just works, and the original combos work as well.

try this one and let me know if it works for you: alt-tab to win-tab v2.rar
I still couldn't repeat your issue, but this one changes the input mode which sometimes helps.

No I don't have any conflicting problems or remaps going on. When I use V2 it does it for a second then goes to my desktop and doesn't allow me to click anything unless I use the "Windows Key + Tab" and then it works and by works I mean it allows me click a window again. I'm not sure what exactly is going on.

Here's my last attempt (I'm not tinkering with the main script - that took a group of serious autohotkey people to get it right): alt-tab to win-tab v3.rar
Works for me, even in normal User account with no privileges on an old computer! So all I can suggest is to compile a list of "the usual suspects": e.g., your anti-virus, custom themes, any background running software that involves display (Run > msconfig > Startup tab); maybe try running as administrator (right-click on .exe, Compatibility tab), try running it from different directory; maybe try it with a different keyboard.

Okay using this version it works 98% of the time if I run it as Admin. So I am not too sure what is going on. If you would like to look into my computer through TeamViewer you may.
