Printscreen Hi all,
Is there a way (and has windows 7 done it) to make the print-screen button to make a .JPG in a specific folder or any folder for that matter. so if you were to take 100 print-screens they would number off in a folder and be 100 files not the latest print-screen on the clipboard.
Cheers

Sambridg Not sure about printscreen, but with the snipping tool in Windows 7 you can pretty much do all the above. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built. Sambridg You might want to look into "Faststone Capture": FastStone Image Viewer, Screen Capture, Photo Resizer ...
I use this and really like it.
It -will- do all you require, but you have to deal with the "Settings" to get things right.
1. You specify the folder.
2. You specify the filename with "_###" (I think), jpg, png, etc.
3. Hit PrtScr, he shows pic - Cancel or Save, as "filename_001.jpg", etc.
I use the last version of their 'freeware', v5.2...
Everything after that is 'shareware', well worth the price, after the trial period!

you'll have to grab a 3rd party screen capture app for that.
try picpick: PicPick Support Center
or the last free version of faststone before it went shareware: The Portable Freeware Collection - FastStone Capture
i think both can take over for the print screen key, automatically save captures to a specific directory, and number them as you like. | My System Specs | | OS 7600 x86 CPU Core 2 Duo e7200, 2.53 ghz Motherboard Micro-Star MS-7529 Memory 2x DDR2 PC5300 1gb, 667 mhz Graphics Card GeForce 9500gt, 512mb Monitor(s) Displays 22" LG Flatron w2234s Screen Resolution 1680x1050 PSU CoolerMaster M520 Hard Drives Excelstor SATA-II 250gb 7200rpm, 8mb cache Internet Speed 30/20 mbits |

i've always liked CFI shelltoy's, and the extended clipboard does basically exactly what you want, though it isnt free, nor do i know if it even properly works on windows 7

Wow thanks for the response, one more parameter that i didnt mention, this solves all of my issues within windows but what about ingame shots. will these programs make u halt the game to accept the shot or minimize the game until you accept the shot. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 and Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows XP Proffessional CPU Intel Quad Core 2.4 Motherboard Abit QuadGT Memory 8 GB corsair DDR2 1066 Graphics Card ATI 4970 1GB Sound Card Onboard 8 channel Monitor(s) Displays 2 X Samsung 226BW 22 Inch LCD monitors PSU Silverstone 1KW powersupply Case Silverstone TJ10 case Cooling V8 coolermaster CPU cooler Hard Drives 1.5TB Seagate Sata

I personally have no idea, since I'm not a "gamer".
Why don't you try one or two, and see what it does while you're 'gaming'.
That way you'd also get your future questions answered, simply by trying it out and observing its actions. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway GT5056 OS XP_Pro, W7_7201, W7RC.vhd, SciLinux5.3, Fedora12, Fedora9_2x, OpenSolaris_09-06 CPU AMD 64x2 Motherboard Yes Memory 1 gig Graphics Card Dunno Sound Card Realtek something Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 940MW w/TV Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Hard Drives 250 GB WD, USB Seagate Freedesk 1.5 T Internet Speed Cable modem Other Info 1 + 1 = 10b,

most good screenshot apps accept global hotkeys and let you choose to automatically save screenshots behind the scenes. but with gaming, you might face the same problems as trying to capture video from media players. depending on the display mode used, conventional screenshot apps might not work.
if you're mostly interested in capturing gaming screens, consider Fraps. it's for benchmarking games and capturing video/stills while you play. it's definitely not cheap, but it's definitely the best. | My System Specs | | OS 7600 x86 CPU Core 2 Duo e7200, 2.53 ghz Motherboard Micro-Star MS-7529 Memory 2x DDR2 PC5300 1gb, 667 mhz Graphics Card GeForce 9500gt, 512mb Monitor(s) Displays 22" LG Flatron w2234s Screen Resolution 1680x1050 PSU CoolerMaster M520 Hard Drives Excelstor SATA-II 250gb 7200rpm, 8mb cache Internet Speed 30/20 mbits All times are GMT -5.
