Hmm, have seen that in Windows Mobile. But in normal Win7 you do not have the reg key that would have to be changed.

Where did you find that example?

Not that I know of any. I think the key that is missing is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\

If you care mostly about the look of the menu, and not the ease of adding/removing "pinned" items, try Classic Shell. See the screenshot.

To manage your grid items you will have to go through the start menu settings and create custom item for each.

If you are not a registry expert, you better keep off it. I have not tried adding that key, so I cannot say.

Classic start menu and consistent folder view in Win7
So I have to maintain a Winblows box because of some closed-source tools we are required to use from a vendor. The system I bought to lug around said OS is a Dell that doesn't support XP. :( So I ran Vista for a while and that was a horrid experience. So when Win7 came out we moved over. Ok...

Race Driver - Grid fails to start
I downloaded the demo of Race Driver - Grid from the Codemaster's web-site. While it installed and lets me create a profile, to start the game it states "Loading", with no hard-disk activity and just stops at that point. Leaving it for 10 minutes results in nothing happening. Anyone else experience...
