Figured out a better way

Type in taskbar and start menu in that same search bar. Click on the taskbar and start menu program. Click on the start menu tab. Click Customize in the upper right corner. Scroll down until you see "Search Files" and click "Don't search for files" under that. Then nothing shows up as you enter search criteria into the search bar. Hope this helps.

Search in hidden folders?
Is there a way to disable searching in hidden folders? I have some non-hidden files in hidden folders on my HDD (so I can access the files by typing the right path in address bar, without changing any visibility settings), and I don't want any of these files to be shown in search results at all.
