Following customization tutorial for shell32; conrinually blue screeni

I labeled a photo for reference.

Both of these icons appear to be unknown file icons. I have tried to modify the shell32.dll in system32 so that no2's icon showed for both no 1 abd bi2. I have been doing this for about 4+ days.

The first time I tried using reg edit. I found the icon to be in h_class/...unknown/unknownicon (or something) the value wqas liker %system troot%/.../system32/shell32.dll,0
I changed that 0 which signified icon no1 to adiff no which i thought represented icon no2

The replacement numbers were 70 and trying again later was 152. these both gave me a blue screen.

btw these no were from iconviewer and icofx.

the next day i tried this method and blue screend

Welcome to the Seven Forums
The easiest way to do it would be to find the icon you want to use and replace the #1 icon in shell32.dll Then take ownership then give yourself permission and rename and replace the shell32.dll
that second icon looks like #2 or #19 in the imageres.dll
If you need some assistance with this let me know.

That number two icon that you are showing in your first post is not in the shell32.dll the first one is.

Extract it from imageres.dll and replace the one in shell32.dll with it.

This will show how to take ownership, give permission and rename and replace the shell32.dll
