Remove Reload Icon Windows Explorer

    Download a 30 day free trial of Restorator - Bome Software - Restorator - the resource editor for customization, localization, and translation.

    Open up the ExploreFrame.dll
    Remove Reload Icon Windows Explorer-1.pngRemove Reload Icon Windows Explorer-2.png

    Drag and drop bitmap #288 onto your desktop
    Remove Reload Icon Windows Explorer-3.png

    Open it up in a image editor and erase the refresh image and save the image.
    Before
    Remove Reload Icon Windows Explorer-4.png

    After
    Remove Reload Icon Windows Explorer-5.png

    Drag it back into restorator the image will look like it has not changed but it did now save it you will have the saved copy and a backup copy when done.

    The action can't be completed because the folder or file is open in another folder.

    I am working on the copy of it but when I drag and drop the modified ExplorerFrame.dll to System32 I get file in use error even with Explorer.exe closed.

    Never mind, had to change the one in there to ExplorerFrame.dll.old and then I could add it in.

    Now I have another problem



    It's still at the edge and has a white background around it.

    Bitmaps can be a tricky image to edit get a another copy of that ExplorerFrame.dll that came with the theme and edit it again but saved it as a .png then go to this site Online Image Converter in converted to a .bmp and try it again.

    I don't think I even have the Aero ExplorerFrame.dll as my desktop got messy , I will try to keep it organised in labelled folders so I know what everything is..
