Mass change folder template on non-contiguous folders?
Is it possible to force Windows to accept a new "desktop.ini" file without using "Customise this folder..." on every folder?
I finally decided on which details I wanted for a "Music" folder template.
The way I have my file structure set up, I couldn't just go to the parent folder and cascade the "Music" template down to the dub-folders.
Since I have hundreds of folders, I copied the "desktop.ini" file to the ones that I wanted the template to apply to.
Of course the folders still show the old format ("General") despite the "desktop.ini" file showing "Music".
I seem to recall that there was a trick that you could use (in XP) to reset the "Registry", so that Windows would read and apply the "desktop.ini" file, the next time you opened the folder.
Does anyone remember that trick?
Does it still apply in W7?
