How to Stop Windows 7 from Grouping Files by Location?

Hey everyone. Okay, if you right click on my documents to the right (properties) through the start menu, and change up the folder, it'll start grouping the documents inside that by location. Even if it's only one location. While the default my documents folder doesn't do that. How do I fix this? I do have Service Pack 1 installed.

hi riverflow, and welcome to sevenforums,

i'm sorry, but i don't understand what you mean.

what exactly do you right-click? and what do you mean by 'change up the folder'?

maybe a screenshot would help?

The right side of the start menu looks like the following:
"Username"
Documents
Pictures
Music

Right click on "Documents" and go to properties. Now, there should be an option called include a folder. That's what I'm talking about.

Screenshot 1 - How the original "My Documents" folder looks.
Screenshot 2 - What I would like removed in the new folder.

that's because it's a library, so it can gather files from different locations.

if the locations weren't there, then you wouldn't be sure which files you were playing with.

imagine your library had a file with the same name stored in two different places - how would you know which file you were looking at if the location data wasn't shown?

by the way, you can upload screenshots to the forum: Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums.

Okay, I understand better now. I'm assuming by "it's" you're referring to "Documents". But does that mean the default "My Documents" is exempt from this? I mean clearly it's not following what you're describing.
