Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced and right-click to create a new DWORD and name it ExtendedUIHoverTime.

Now double-click on it and give it a Decimal value of “1” click OK, close out of Registry Editor, then logoff and back on for it to go into effect.

Brink, the only question I have is the Decimal value. Should that be 1 or 100? The tutorial I got online uses "1". Does it make a difference?

    Darryl,

Only that the lower the number the lower in milliseconds the time delay is. It's just a matter of preference for the amount though. 1 would give you a very quick taskbar thumbnail preview opening. :)
