I recently purchased an Asus ASU33JCA1 Bamboo laptop which came with Windows 7 Home Premium loaded.
I'm a software developer so I have 5 other Windows 7 machines in the house (I know, 5 is probably overkill but what can I say).
All of my machines were purchased in the US, have the US English version of Windows 7 (Some are Home Premium and others are Ultimate). I have followed the instructions for installing Japanese IME on all of them successfully. Sites such as this have simple to follow instructions:
Installing and Typing Japanese on Vista / Windows 7 Add or change an input language
On my existing systems I have the language toolbar and if, for example, I type "wa" I get the Japanese Wa character わ.
On the new Asus, the keyboard mapping/layout is incorrect. If I type an H on the keyboard the Japanese Ku character appears on the screen. None of the characters map correctly.
Is this caused by the laptop keyboard not being a standard 101 layout? How do I fix this issue?
Thanks,
Paul
