Windows 7 not showing all thumbnails

I have Windows 7 ultimate 64bit, I just upgraded from professional, when I had professional, all of my videos had thumbnail previews. Now, just about zero do. Is there a way to get this back to the way it was before? For example, I use VLC as my default player to open vids and it is just the cone, no thumb. The same goes with WMP

Crap, there's a way to rebuild thumbnails, maybe that's it, but I forgot how, heh. You're not exceptionally low on disk space, are you? Give me a second I'll find out about refreshing the thumbnail cache.

Ok, do a Windows search for 'disk cleanup', run it and make sure the "Thumbnails" is checked before you click 'clean system files'. Good?

       Note
Always backup the registry should you decide to alter any settings there.

Nope, I don't know what's up...all pics show thumbs, but only some videos do. Before, they all did, and I have the same ones on there and still abou less than half show thumbs for the videos. It is really frustrating!

    You may try Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs - WMP12 Codecs .

After installation, run the program, and check the "shark007 suggested settings" ... it will generate all the video thumbnails.
