Hi demo and welcome to the forums.
Sure you can remove the text.
Right click the icon, click Rename and Press Alt+255. for the 2nd icon, press Alt+255 twice. for the 3rd icon, now you know it.

Hello Demo, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You can use the same method below to hide the text for them. In Windows 7, you would only need to rename them to change the text back instead though.

Desktop Icon Text - Hide or Show - Vista Forums

    Hope this helps,

Thanks for that, I was trying to remember how to do that, don't forget to use the keypad as the top key don't work.

Any ideas how you can hide the text for the recycle bin and libraries desktop icons?

I did exactly what was written in this thread to remove the text from my recycle bin, have you tried what was suggested?

Haha! I didn't even see 'rename' on the recycle bin. But I'm not sure if it's possible to rename libraries...?
