    sort start menu download menu by date not name


    The win 7 start menu download folder item on the right sorts by name. This is very annoying. I cannot find a download unless I know its name. If by date I just look up a recent download at top of list.

    How do I change behavior so downloads in start menu (right column) sorts by date?

    NB. I changed the folder properties in explorer so the download folder sorts by date. It does there no problem. But not in the start menu.

    What a worthless feature to sort by name when it is downloads. I am checking for a registry work around, but it is a slow bushiness for me.

Is it possible to add "Date Created" to the 'Sort By' menu for every folder in one step rather then having to add it manually to folders?
I just noticed in my start menu -> all programs I can move items around. But when I reboot they're all reset back to alphabetical. Anyone know how to stop that resort and make it stick?

I wanted to rearrange my start menu so I right clicked the Windows button -> "Start Menu" tab -> Customize -> unchecked "Sort All Programs menu by name" Then I went to the start menu and drag and dropped the icons to my liking. Now they have been re-alphabetized! Was there something...
I would like to have all my Start Menu items (pinned and recently used) always be listed alphabetically. I know and use the setting for "All Programs" but what about the Start Menu itself? How can I set it so that it displays the items sorted? Thanks!
On build 7000, I could do this. But now everytime I try to drag a pinned item to move it to the top (I like to keep my stuff alphabetically ordered), it just gives me the option to open it with whatever else I'm holding it over. Anyone else notice this and/or know a way around this nonsense?...
