    Company name Hewlett Packard

    This is becoming annoying.

I have an HP computer. In everything that has a company field it defaults to Hewlett Packard as my company name. How can I change this?

The easiest way for the best experience is to do a clean install of your OS as soon as you get an HP. I have bought several from them, and was an employee of HP for almost 6 years....and I can't tell you how poor the systems run when left with the OEM install as compared to a clean install.

I'm not saying that as I would be lecturing someone new...I'm saying it because the night and day difference is astounding. I've worked on plenty of other OEMs, most often Dell, and none of their systems run as poor out of the box as HP's.

This claims to be an easy way of changing the info:

I used to change the User Name and Company Name frequently for my friends. The techie who installed Windows for them used to give names that he wanted without asking the prospective user.

I used to open the Registry, search for the given names and replace them with what my friends wanted. But I had to do it for many keys/values. The link provided does it only once. Therefore if kado897 opens the Registry and searches for User Name and Company then I think he would find HP shown as the Company Name in many other places in the Registry.

Best I think would be to change the Company Name everywhere.
